Misc Armament Panel

By means of the Misc Armament Panel different functions can be used. Among these are the Weapon Master Switch, Autopilot, on some A/C types a braking-parachute, or the TFS (Terrain Following System). This panel is located on the center console.

RF 3-Way switch NORM Normal operation mode on
QUIET Radar emissions reduced, the AGP-68 radar is put to Standby
SILENT All radar emissions are silenced (no RADAR, no CARA (RALT) and no TFR, the system will indicate a TF failure and generate a TF FAIL light and WARN indication)
LASER 2-Way switch ARM Forward Looking InfraRed (FLIR) pod's targeting laser on
OFF Forward Looking InfraRed (FLIR) pod's targeting laser off
ECM Light

  On, if ECM is active
ALT REL Button   Alternate weapon release button (see Side Stick Controller)
MASTER 3-Way switch ARM All weapons active
OFF All weapons safe
SIMULATE Weapons mode simulate active
ADV MODE 3-Status light ACTIVE TFS (Terrain Following System) active
STBY TFS (Terrain Following System) standby
Off TFS (Terrain Following System) inactive
ROLL 3-Way switch HDG SEL Autopilot follow HSI heading

Element Type Position Information
IFF Button - This button provides the primary method of initiating the identification of position function (I/P) of the IFF system. Pushing the button momentarily causes the I/P timer to energize for 15-30 seconds. If a mode 1 (Security identity), 2 (Personal identity) or 3A (Traffic identity) interrogation is recognized within this 15-30 second period, I/P replies are made.

ALT REL Button   Alternate weapon release button (see Side Stick Controller)
MASTER 3-Way switch ARM All weapons active
OFF All weapons safe
SIMULATE Weapons mode simulate active
AUTO TF 3-Way switch AUTO TF Not functional. ATF NOT ENGAGED caution light illuminates.
MAN TF Interrupts pitch mode of autopilot but does not disengage PITCH switch.
OF Normal position.
PITCH 3-Way switch ALT HOLD Engages pitch axis of autopilot. Autopilot maintains constant altitude as determined by CADC.
OFF Disengages pitch axis of autopilot.
ATT HOLD Enganes pitch axis of autopilot. Autopilot maintains constant pitch attitude as determined by INS.
ROLL 3-Way switch HDG SEL Engages roll axis of autopilot. Autopilot turns the aircraft to capture and maintain the heading selected by the heading reference marker on the HSI.
OFF Disengages roll axis of autopilot.
ATT HOLD Engages roll axis of autopilot. Autopilot maintains roll attitude as determined by INS.
