The marker beacon lights up when overflying the outer or middle marker, giving the pilot an additional
position information. The markers are Ultra Short Freq. Beacons and are located at the prolonged centerline of
a runway at a predeterminated distance of the touch-down area. Military airports use outer, middle and inner
markers, while civilian airports only use outer and middle markers. The Marker Beacon is located above the
Fuel QTY Sel Panel of the
center console.
